First off, his name is just laughable – the Overlord.
It was more well written, that’s true but i could still see a young person behind and sometimes i felt like the wrong words were picked to describe. That she left Steldor so happily. But it’s this self-absorption of Alera’s that bothers caylz to no end. Kluver’s writing has the kind of archaic grace up there with Christopher Paolini, I wasn’t as impressed this time around versus with the first book.
Legacy (novel series)
Other books in this series. Without this, many of the characters and their relationships to Alera blend easily and feel ill-formed. Overall I thought this was a really good book.
The only times I was forced to put the book down were driving home from the coffee s I rarely like the second book in trilogies. So of course, a whole nation falls and people are brutally slaughtered because Alera won’t sacrifice her sister- or is it really because she’d kluvdr hold on to Narian?
I can’t wait for book three to see where the author will take this epic tale. I loved Alera all over again for so many different reasons and grew to care more for all the minor characters that had lots more involvement.
The Legacy Trilogy Book 2 Paperback: She sits in her room for days, crying and reclusively shying from her public duty but by the end she’s definitely a different person with responsibilities so great that the future of Hytanica now rests allegiancf her shoulders. Allegiance (The Legacy Trilogy): Cayla Kluver: : Books
Whether or not it served as a ploy alleginace get readers to pick up the next installment, I must admit that I am glad that I gave Cayla Kluver another chance because Allegiance was absolutely heartbreakingly good in the sense that one character made the story come to life for me. I almost stopped reading all together but I dared to push on so I can find out what happened to Narian.
Read reviews that mention cayla kluver even though historical fiction main character felt like agreed to marry read legacy high priestess feel like second book final book next book spoiler alert pretty much harlequin teen get my hands look forward writing style enjoyed legacy reading allegiance. Still in love with the Cokyrian enemy, Narian, she refuses to fulfil her duties as Steldor’s wife and continually resists his attempts at aligning with her.

The writing is pretty much exactly the same as the first book. I don’t think I have ever seen such a downfall between books. Overall it’s a romantic filler that is probably not helpful for its intended young audience but may be better than most romance novels for adult readers.
When Steldor manages to steal the show away from Alera, I feel like that has to mean something has gone curiously off-center. Some of the characters seem a bit too forgiving of what would be considered war crimes today and the story puts too much blame on the Overlord, who I feel sort of falls into the trap of being a cliched psychopath.
They’re developed so well and your opinions about them will keep changing throughout the book. And i can’t say the writing style changed much from then. It has everything, Historical fiction, fantasy, royalty and of course a love triangle! I really don’t like Alera and how she acts. I don’t care if she’s young, but when you’re shoved to be queen, you should learn to buckle up and mature to play that role effectively.
New York City is one of her favorite places on the planet. Instead of taking this chance to flesh out her characters, Kluver practically kept them from expanding. Legacy is her first novel. But the problem is that so much is lost to try and force this message across, and Alera doesn’t strike me as the right character to carry it out.
And that completely ruins this book for me. Her narration constantly tells us that she’s allured by his eyes and his scent however she’s still holding on to her feelings for Narian and they haunt her. Does this mean she intends to get with Narian at the end of all of this, after all of that? Allegiancr am so impressed with this book! But we loooooooove Narian, right? But honestly, there’s a reason why historically, there have been young kings, conquerors, and rulers — Alexander the Great and Elizabeth I just being a couple of the examples.
